Dreamcatcher (mini-album)
Presentation
The idea of playing old music appeared in the year 2000. A small group of musicians gathered to revive the beautiful music which for some reasons was outlawed from the classical repertoire and well-forgotten.
Ministrialis (which in Latin means “one who serves smb.”) – was a name for a medieval musician and poet in England and France, who, serving the troubadours, sang their songs and often composed music for them. At the same time the ministrels were the bearers of the folk traditions in the medieval music and poetry. In the 13th-17th century France and England by ministrels professional musicians were meant.
The ensemble has made its first album, which is called the Dreamcatcher.
The programme presented doesn’t characterize a country or a style, in it we have tried to depict the wonderful Times of Chivalry, which for sure exist in the subconscious of every person.
Our goal has been to create the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and thus help people to feel the ties with their past, with their “romantic” twin – a Knight, who lived then, but is also present in all of us now. Our goal is “Vita NOVA” (new life, revival) of our memory of the long-gone past which is so far away and at the same time so close.
We have dreamt a beautiful dream – and we would like to share it with you.
The CD was recorded at the recording studio of M. Dribniuk (Lviv) on June 30th, 2004.
